| Anyone have a good way to fix a scratched cd? I got WASP's Double Live Assassins in the mail today from SecondSpin.com and the damn thing skips worse than an old vinyl. To look at disc 1, it doesn't appear that bad, but there is one certain little spot that it gets hung-up on every time (disc 2 is fine). I'm willing to try and salvage it before I go through the hassle of mailing it back. Any suggestions? And not your peanut butter-pickle-chocolate-sauce-whatever solution that you posted on the HoM either Freddy. | |

| Is it scratched on the bottom? Or is it a piece scratched through the top? | |

On the bottom (silver) side. What sounded bad in my little boom box at work sounded even worse in my car on the ride home. I'm probably just going to return it to Second Spin. I'm pissed.

| Try some rubbing alcohol and a q tip that might help. Try scratch doctor as well maybe. | |

I don't have a scratch doctor, but I did try some cleaning wipes I had at home. It's basically rubbing alcohol on a baby wipe. Didn't help much. I've already contacted SecondSpin about returning it. Since it will probably be out of stock, I'm fine with a store credit. I've ordered from them before, but this is the 1st time I've received a bum disc.

| I'm gonna give the old toothpaste buffing method a shot. I've got nothing to lose at this point. I've heard back from Second Spin and it sounds like they're sending me a replacement copy, no questions asked. If I read the e-mail right, I don't even need to return the scratched disc. | |

I fail to see how that might repair the scratch, but I'll give it a shot.

Yeah, I just ordered "Yessongs" from Wherehouse.com, which is just an offshoot of Secondspin (or vice versa) and the 2 CD set came with one CD, and a badly damaged tray card. Needless to say they are sending me a replacement no questions asked.

| Second Spin is supposedly sending me a replacement cd, but I haven't seen it yet. Been almost 2 weeks now since they told me. | |
