Epic battle of the rock operas: Ziggy vs. Tommy vs. Pink!

Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Anyway, VOTE for your favorite!

The Wall is the only one I'm familiar with. Bowie and The Who are kinda blah to me.

I have never heard The Wall described as a "rock opera" before.

Okay, you learn something new everyday. From the ones listed I'll go with Tommy.

I went with Pink too. I like Bowie, but the Who never much appealed to me. Too much radio play burned me out.

If you had asked me this question in 1988 or so, it would have been The Wall easily. But the older I get the less I like that album. In fact there's only a few songs I can still listen to from that album.

The last Floyd album I actually "loved" was Animals.

Same here.

Although of the three offered, I'd take Floyd. I think The Wall is overrated though. I like Animals, Dark Side and Wish You Were Here better.

None of'em really... if I want a rock opera I'll grab Savatage's THE WAKE OF MAGELLAN or STREETS....

But of the ones offered, I'll go with THE WALL...I passed many a stoned evening in college watching that one on bootleg video with my buds back in the day... Laughing

Of course if we're talking "concept albums" from British bands, we're missing quite a few.

King Crimson - Lizard
Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans
Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
Jethro Tull - A Passion Play
The Who - Quadrophenia

I know there are more.
