| I'm am a Head Clerk at Save Mart Supermarkets. Anyone heard of them? Based out of Modesto, CA. They bought out the NorCal division of Albertson's which included Nevada. Anyway, I'm trained in all the departments, but my main focus is center store(deli, dairy, liquor, frozen, and dry grocery). I close the store two nights a week in which I am the total store night manager. On my day shifts I'm the store bitch and pretty much take care of whatever needs to be done whether it be working back stock, throwing a dairy or deli load, or building displays. I like my work(because I didn't go to college) and I'm hoping to get promoted soon.
So what's your line of work?

| I work for one of the larger (and still very sound) national banks in their boker mortgage lending area. I review docs, title, funding, training and do a little bit of everything around the department.

| At the moment I'm taking whatever I can find (in this economy it sucks). I'm currently working a contract assignment for IBM (installing VOIP phones)...and also doing A/V setup/support at a couple local hotels.
I've been trying to find something full-time since June and so far it just hasn't materialized. If something doesn't come up within the next 6 weeks or so I might have to re-locate elsewhere.

I make good money but I work in a cubicle farm. You've got the messy part right though. People come from all over the building and from Corporate to see my cube. It's a combination of dog and cat pictures and monsters. I have detailed models of Pumpkinhead, The Fly and Two from The Thing. I have lots of Godzillas plus Leatherface. I also have Beanie Babies of Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah. I also have a cubicle wall dedicated to stickers, patches and other paraphernalia that you get in CDs sometimes.

This one's for you Toho: I did this for a demo reel, it's 50 seconds from the film "Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla". I removed all the audio from the scene and replaced everything with sound effects from the Hanna Barbera sfx library...if you listen close you'll hear the Six Million Dollar Man sound, the War Of The Worlds laser sound, a couple Jetsons effects...alot of stuff. The music was taken from the 1958 Hammer film "Horror Of Dracula". http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/10/12/2140144/Godzilla%20again.mpg

| The thought has crossed my mind.
Seriously, I had one of the big shots from the business side confess after he got to know me that my cube scared him. He couldn't understand how I could have calendars depicting puppies and kittens, a wall of humane organization membership cards and pictures of my cats juxtaposed with Leatherface, The Thing, Pumpkinhead and classic monster pics like Frankenstein and the Wolfman. Add in my well-publicized love of gory movies and he thought I was schizophrenic.

| I work for the Government. Thats right, The Government! just exactly what do I do for the Government? Well its a very important job and I take it very seriously. Not too many people have the will power or the strength that I have to do what I do. They just dont hire anyone to deliver the mail ya know.
haha.....ugh.....even writing about my job makes me sick. Everyone thinks working at the post office is such a great job but its not. Sure you make good money but the things that they do to try and make you loose your money is just rediculous. Its the only job where one year you could be making great money and then the next year your pay can go down. I'll never understand who thinks of all the crap that they do because none of it makes any sense and they wonder why Postal employees go nuts.

| I have a magic weiner. People come from across the planet to my home, so I can rub my magic weiner on them, their family and/or friends, thier pets, lucky charms, whatever. Of course, I KNOW there is nothing any more special about my weiner than anyone elses - but apparently it has made alot of people happy over the years and a legend/myth has spread to even the smallest villages. Sometimes they pay me [I have rec'd some fairly strange items for payments], most times I refuse. I just believe my weiner and I have this destiny. |
