Screw Thanksgiving!

Change of plans for me this year. Looks like my brother's new wife will be making her 1st turkey dinner this year. Should be interesting, to say the least.

Make sure that the gravy boat is placed right in front of you.

Got my turkey over the weekend. 22.5 pounds currently defrosting in the fridge.

Of course, I'm getting a cold which means I'll be freezing even more turkey meat than usual.

my wife's dad and stepmom are hosting us this year. I cant wait to eat and watch football!!

Back when I worked at a supermarket, I hated this day too. Lines as fars as the eye could see and shelves picked clean. Even canned beets. Nobody ever buys canned beets.

It's deader than dead where I work today. I'm only here so we can be open. We should have a delivery today, but other than that, nothing.

It is me and two other ladies in my office. We usually have 19 people working.

This afternoon is going to be sloooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww.

It's busy here today because we have an event this evening, but it will be a ghost town on Friday. Just a few of us here that day.

Lot of people are off here today too.

We just got word that we can leave at 2pm.

I was kinda hoping for early dismissal today too, but if I don't want to be here over the weekend, I gotta get stuff done today. If I stop wasting time here, I can probably get done and still skate out early-ish.

i got out at 4 today. I was hoping for earlier but we were just too darn busy... plus i had an interview for the supervisor position of my group...

I got out at 6 something yesterday, wasnt too bad, closed to customers at 5, but we had to set up for Black Friday

i hate black friday. i normally go to work to avoid all the crowds and stuff... too many people going nuts for my taste. We had a couple people hauled off to jail for assault at my locally wallymart last year... they were going at it for a tv.... a year before i heard people at the front of the line at a best buy were hurt when the crowd behind them trampled them to get into the store...

I stay away from stores on Black Friday. People go crazy. Every year you see stories all across the country about people getting in fights and even shootings over stuff like Nintendo Wi's.

its crazy... its like putting fresh meat in front of hungry wolves!!

I think the funny thing is this year at least retailers will be more desperate as the season goes on. Thats why i do my shopping Dec 24... plus i shop better under pressure..

My sister-in-law did a very nice job with the dinner. Turkey was well-cooked, not dried out at all. For her fisrt attempt at a Thanksgiving dinner, I'd give her an A minus. Not that I cared, but my wife was kind enough to point out some "presentation" flaws that noone but her and Martha Stewart would have cared about. The food tasted good, that's all I care about.

That's awesome!! I was picturing you choking down dry turkey meat with a smile on your face.

Good excuse to have more wine or beer. Not that I need an excuse...

turkey, mashed potatoes and stuff galore.. then watched the eagles whoop up on kurt warner... today at work as BORING!!!! nothing to do as everyone else was out shopping..

at least i wasnt the guy at walmart who got trampled to death... dead at 47 after being stampeded by 200 people...
