What is your favorite thrash album?

I am not a thrashaholic anymore but I still love Overkill - The Years of Decay....

I've never really considered that a thrash album, and I could be wrong about that. It's always been more of a speed metal album to me. Megadeth has always been borderline thrash for me, but they never really seem to cross over into full on thrash like Anthrax or Slayer or Exodus etc..

Geez, there are so many good ones, hard to boil it down to just one. My Top 5 (today at least) would probably be:

Exodus - FABULOUS DISASTER
Stormtroopers of Death - SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE
Deliverance - WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE
Overkill - FEEL THE FIRE
Slayer - REIGN IN BLOOD

But if you asked me tomorrow I'd probably give you 5 completely different ones...

Its got what I associate to be true thrash, anger, raw production, balls out attitude, solo and riff filled, and humour. Its the perfect thrash album just about, to me anyway.

The reason I voted for R.I.B. isn't necessarily because it's my "favorite"...but because at the time it was released it seemed like the holy grail of thrash...28 minutes of pure aggression that sounded like it might have spawned from some sort of Lovecraftian demon. Even today when someone says "thrash", that's the first album that pops into my mind, which must mean something.

With hindsight being 20/20, there were probably better (and definitely more enjoyable) thrash albums during that "golden era", but R.I.B. set the bar REAL high.

R.I.B is most definately one of the best thrash albums, and one of my favorites. Slayer was my favorite band at point, and it had alot to do with that album

We need to tutor him, he's evidently not gotten the whole thrash thing quite right. Thrash 101, anyone?
